Don
Mecca, a registered pharmacist and owner of the Wilton Pharmacy
for over thirty years, was
plagued, like millions of others, with excessively dry skin, and suffered the consequences: rough itchy skin, sore chapped
hands, fingers lined with cracks — especially during
the frigid cold blasts of winter. |
|
As the owner
of a large independent pharmacy, Don thought he had a unique
advantage, he had a full arsenal of moisturizers at his disposal.
And he tried them all — lotions, creams, oil, powders, jars,
pumps — you name it. Some helped, but the help was often short-lived.
|
 |
| Others
were too greasy and never fully absorbed. Others promised more
than they delivered. He even tried prescription creams yet still.... he was
not happy with the results.
So, after
a little pharmaceutical soul searching and countless mornings
in freezing temperatures setting up The New York Times with
icy fingertips and painfully cracked skin, Don thought, Maybe
it's time to come up with my own moisturizer. And soon
after...Pharmacy Formula was born.
We're
not talking the polio vaccine, sheep cloning or stem cell research, but Pharmacy Formula was by far, the best moisturizer Don had ever used.
HIS SKIN REJOICED!
Now, if Pharmacy
Formula worked so well for Don, would it do the same for his
customers? There was only one way to find out! Put it on the shelves.
And, much to Don's amazement, Pharmacy Formula quickly became
a "vanishing" cream since it was disappearing off
the shelves as quickly as he could stack it.
And the comments
were extremely positive.
The story
could end here because Don recently retired and Wilton Pharmacy
is now a fond memory — But it seems Pharmacy Formula is still
very much in demand. In fact, since Don retired, he's
been receiving letters from customers, friends, and relatives
of customers, all asking where they
could buy Pharmacy Formula.
|
Or, if he could send them a jar or two. Apparently for many people, once they use Pharmacy Formula, it's difficult to survive without it... or switch to another moisturizer.

"For the last five years, I —and many — purchased your hand cream at the Wilton Pharmacy. Don Mecca just sold his store to CVS — and no more hand cream! It is, by far, the best cream for dried skin. Can we purchase it directly?
Much Thanks....." Beverelee Henion, Wilton, CT
"Please know that Wilton Pharmacy is missed in the community, along with the warmth and personal attention given to your customers. We wish you luck in marketing your Pharmacy Formula Moisturizing Cream and look forward to when it is once again offered locally... without it, we are forced to change to an inferior cream..."
Juliette M. Weiland, Wilton, CT
"Please send hand/body cream to Mrs. Ralph Dushame.... I continue to love your product... and wish you luck in your venture to make it available to many more customers."
Mrs. Ruth Ellen Dushame, Sarasota, Florida
